𝑻𝒖𝒃𝒐𝒅, 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆 — Excitement filled the campus of Tubod College as students, especially incoming first-year learners, officially began their academic journey during the Back-to-School Institutional Orientation Program for Academic Year 2026–2027. The event served as a warm welcome, introducing students to the college community while inspiring them to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
The day commenced at 7:45 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony, where the Tubod College community gathered to pay respect to the Philippine flag and sing the national anthem before the start of the official program.
The program then opened with a heartfelt welcome message from School Vice President Danilo L. Daniel, who encouraged students to remain resilient throughout their college journey. Drawing inspiration from the story of the pawikan (sea turtle), he reminded everyone that every difficult journey leads to a meaningful destination. “There is a better and good life once the pawikan reaches the beach,” he shared, urging students to continue moving forward despite pressure and hardships as they begin their four-year journey.
The atmosphere became more vibrant as the Soulthread Band energized the audience with their renditions of Upuan and So Easy (To Fall in Love), setting a lively tone for the program.
In her inspiring address, College President Dr. Cherry Marie Paclipan emphasized the priceless value of education, reminding students that while education requires sacrifice, it is one of life’s greatest investments. She described educators as “the mitochondria of this institution,” recognizing their vital role in empowering students to achieve their dreams. Encouraging the freshmen to seize every opportunity, she said, “Your adventure passport starts now, so make the most of it. Ayaw’g usiki ang panahon. Do not take it for granted.” She also expressed her sincere gratitude to the Local Government Unit (LGU) for its continued support in improving the college’s facilities and learning environment. She concluded her message by introducing the freshmen’s guiding motto, “Omnibus Cum Deo” (All with God).
Following the inspirational messages, Ms. Blessel Fabillar introduced the college’s administrative officials, faculty members, and support services staff, helping students become familiar with the people who will guide and assist them throughout their stay at Tubod College.
The celebration continued with a special musical performance by Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist Jes Torres, who captivated the audience with a powerful rendition of “Superwoman.” The performance showcased exceptional vocal talent and commanding stage presence, earning enthusiastic applause from the TCnians.
Faculty members from the different academic departments—including Agriculture, Criminology, Education, Entrepreneurship, Social Work, and General Education—were formally introduced, giving students the opportunity to meet the mentors who will shape their academic journey.
Adding to the day’s inspiration, Municipal Mayor Dionisio Cabahug Jr. shared his personal story of perseverance and growth. Comparing students to the determined pawikan, he encouraged everyone to pursue their dreams with courage and step outside their comfort zones. He emphasized that developing one’s skills can transform lives and open doors to greater opportunities.
Student organizations were also introduced, showcasing avenues for leadership, service, creativity, and personal development. Featured organizations included Tinubdan, Interfaith Club, Soulthread Band, SINAG, BUKALAHI, and Tubod College Dance Club (TCDC), inviting students to become active members of the college community.
The program also featured another heartfelt performance by the Soulthread Band, this time with the song “Tahanan,” followed by the SSC Oath-Taking Ceremony, marking the official transition of leadership to the newly elected Supreme Student Council officers for Academic Year 2026–2027.
To conclude the celebration, the newly elected SSC officers led a lively Unity Dance, symbolizing solidarity and school spirit among the Tubod College community. Exciting raffle draws capped off the event, leaving students with smiles and enthusiasm as they officially embarked on a new academic year.
With inspiring messages, meaningful performances, and a spirit of unity, Tubod College’s Back-to-School Orientation successfully welcomed its students, reminding them that every great journey begins with faith, determination, and the courage to pursue their dreams. Guided by the motto “Omnibus Cum Deo” (All with God), the newest generation of TCnians now begins a new chapter filled with hope, purpose, and endless possibilities.
