About Tubod College

Tubod College is a local higher education institution in the capital town of Lanao del Norte, established through the vision of providing accessible and quality tertiary education to the youth and communities it serves.

The College was formally established on January 29, 2018, by virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 258-2018, through the initiative of then Municipal Mayor Leoncio C. Bagol. Guided by his vision of creating a local college that would help young people become better-equipped leaders of the future, Tubod College was founded to help realize the shared aspirations of Tubodnons for improved living conditions through education.

A College Built on Access and Opportunity

Tubod College began its operations on June 18, 2018, with a clear commitment to giving underprivileged students an opportunity to earn a college degree. The institution provided free tuition and exemption from other school fees, making higher education more accessible to students from Tubod and neighboring municipalities of Lanao del Norte.

The College initially offered three programs:

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd)

Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW)

Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS Entrep)

From its humble beginnings at the Tubod Cultural Center, Tubod College welcomed its first 343 students, supported by competent and qualified instructors and dedicated personnel committed to building the young institution.

From Vision to Institutional Recognition

Tubod College’s early development was strengthened by the dedication of its Technical Working Group, local government officials, faculty, staff, and community leaders. Their collective efforts enabled the institution to comply with the requirements for establishing a higher education institution.

This commitment culminated in the granting of a Certificate of Authority on April 16, 2019, through Commission en banc Resolution No. 246-2019, in favor of the Local Government Unit of Tubod to establish Tubod College.

This milestone affirmed the institution’s continuing pursuit of accessible, relevant, and quality higher education.

The Era of Academic Empowerment

A significant chapter in the College’s development began in mid-2022 under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Dionisio Y. Cabahug, Jr., whose administration emphasized student-centered learning, experiential education, and community engagement.

Under this direction, Tubod College strengthened its commitment to the standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and successfully secured Certificates of Program Compliance for:

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

Bachelor of Science in Social Work

Bachelor of Science in Criminology

Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship

The institution has likewise continued its efforts toward compliance for its Bachelor of Science in Agriculture undergraduate program.

Growing for the Future

Growing for the Future
Tubod College continues to strengthen its academic environment through institutional development, collaboration, and infrastructure improvement. Among its significant developments are the construction of the two-storey SE Building with eight classrooms, the one-storey AE Building with eight classrooms, a school gymnasium, and agricultural facilities. These developments have expanded the College’s capacity to serve its growing academic community.

Tubod College is committed to providing free tuition for eligible students, making quality higher education more accessible to the community. When applicable, miscellaneous and other authorized fees are transparently communicated and are implemented only after approval by the appropriate authorities in accordance with existing regulations. This ensures that students and parents are fully informed and can plan their educational expenses with confidence.
